Meanwhile, as we were traveling and just living life here at home, our military son has been going through Commissioned Officer's Training (COT) in Alabama. I am lucky that he sent me pictures documenting some of the things that happened while he was out there. He's a little like my daughter that way. He gets that I need to see my kids' faces once in a while because I miss them.

In his fatigues.

A shot of an officer's closet.

They camped out a couple of days during the training and apparently ate really yummy food.

Right around his graduation time.

And his formal event uniform.
He drove halfway across the country again to Nebraska where he will be stationed. He has been busy trying to find an apartment for himself and his wife. He did and the moving van we sent off should be unloaded sometime this week. He is busy planning where to hang the dead things we crated up and sent in the truck. When my DIL finishes her year of teaching, she will join him there. He still has 2 months of JAG training that will happen this summer, again in Alabama. Yeah, I'm thinking the weather won't be nearly as pleasant this time around.
An added bit of news. He and his wife are expecting their first baby in the fall. They are excited...we are excited, and since the boy has been gone, my DIL has been kind enough to let me accompany her on her OB appointments. It has been so fun to be included in the excitement and last week we heard the little heartbeat for the first time. It brought back sweet memories of having my own babies. Such a great time of life for my kids.
