It's a special day today!
Our David is 7! You know, it's hard enough facing my own birthdays, then it was how old my kids are getting, but when you turn around to the next generation and see the time flying there, it's mind boggling.
David is a strongly single-minded boy who loves video games,
...Minecraft, Lego building, and cheese pizza.
We love this boy dearly, as we love all of our fantastic grandkids. Happy birthday to David!!!
I've been a little slow getting these up, but it's fun to see how all the grandkids dressed up for the holiday.

John also got into the spirit of things as a 1950's matron.
Look at this hat! It's made from pheasant feathers and it's gorgeous. I remarked on it and Marc's comment was that they could get one for me, too. Somehow, I don't think it would come to me in the same condition as Jan's.
At Eric's house there was pumpkin carving going on.
That last one is never gonna give you up.
Eric's office always dresses up. He's a good sport.

At Marc's house there was also some carving.

She's definitely a girly girl.
From Elise's family, we have the cast of "Cars."
The boys initially weren't sure about the costumes. Elise would FaceTime me and say, "Are you going to dress up like Lightening McQueen and 'Mater?" The answer was almost always, "No."
When Elise was taking down her Halloween, the boys snagged these hats and ran around with them for a while. A successful Halloween for everyone.
Amazingly Gwen, also known originally as the Squeezable Pink Grandbaby, is 15 today.
I know! The thought just boggles the mind.
She loves to read and she sketches beautifully.
She has a creative, beautiful mind, and a tender soul.

as Eric's family took some time to drive out by Elko to watch the solar eclipse.
I always just love the "from behind" perspective. Really just love it.
That they did this shouldn't surprise anyone.
As an aside, I have no idea how this all worked, but it was done by putting this book page under a tree/plant of some kind which acted as a pinhole camera....if I'm understanding the science-y part of what Elisa told me.
Anyway yeah, this shouldn't surprise anyone. You might remember that Eric's undergrad degree was in Astro-Physics. He and his family wear the science nerd label very proudly.
Their day took them to see some beautiful fall foliage,
and panoramic view.

And snow is just as cold as it is in the winter, as Emmett found out.

Watching the sun fade is really hard work.
As I mentioned, Elise and the boys were here for several days.
The leaves are all coming down in my yard,
and the boys really enjoyed them.
They were flying everywhere.
They even piled them on the slide so they could slide through them. It was Leo's turn first,
then Jack took his turn.
We visited the local farm stand and they had this display of mums outside. Elise and I took turns trying to get a good picture of them together.
After we got home Disney Beepaw took them for a wheelbarrow ride, which was probably the high point of the day.
Elise had brought a couple of small pumpkins for them to paint. They ended up dipping those paintbrushes into every, single color without cleaning off the brushes, so all the little pots of paint became this sort of grey-green-brown color. The boys thought it was awesome and when they were done with the pumpkins, they moved on to the paper covering the table.
James boy is 9 today!
Why does it seem like this was just last week?
James is a bright, active kiddo, and I'm lucky that I'll be able to see him later this week.
He's really into Minecraft right now. It's always interesting to see what catches my grandkid's attention.
It's so amazing to watch these kids grow, change, and progress.

Our sweet Ephraim is 6 years old today!
There's a really big personality in this little guy.
He's very much into dragons at the moment and he may have gotten a book called Dragons Love Farts from his grandparents for his birthday,
...at the suggestion of his mama. She knows the way to a boy's heart. He does an amazing job of coloring beautifully within the lines.
That big personality? Yep. We love this boy so much, as we love all our wonderful grandkids. Happy birthday to Ephraim!!
Our grandboy, Roger, has a birthday today! He's a whole decade old.
This boy.....this boy is the one who started the Gramma Honey name.
Whenever he comes over to the house, at some point he'll sidle up to me for a hug. I look forward to it.
He's a creative builder/engineer who likes to construct things. A while back, he was very into creating 3-D rooms out of paper, which was fascinating.

Just to keep me accountable, I'm posting completed Project Life pages. Am I slightly behind in my record keeping? Uh-huh. Two words....Canning. Season. Fortunately, #1--I'm not terribly behind, and #2--it's so easy to play catch up. So scroll on down to see some summer documentation...while I go tackle lots of onions.
Over Labor Day weekend, we had some of the family up at the cabin with us.
With that many bodies, one of the priorities was to get my crafting cabinet out of the trailer and into the cabin.
The guys worked hard to carefully get it into the cabin. Unfortunately, it didn't quite work in the space I'd planned for it.
So there was a lot of measuring and consulting, and more measuring and consulting, until we found another spot across the room that will work just fine. I'm in the process of picking some supplies to take up and stash in there, but I have to re-install all the shelves both in the unit and on the doors. That'll take some time, but I really appreciated all the hefting it took to get it into place.
Once that was taken care of, there was some wandering. The grandkids had some fun rolling a log down a hill on their hike.
There was some rain that came through while they were out so I campfire was in order to keep everyone comfortable. Then came the task of putting it out before moving on, and showing wet moss on it seemed to be a good move. I can unequivocally recommend A&G Movers for any moving needs. The only problem one might encounter is the ability to get everyone together at the same time.
