So around here this week...
My husband returned from his trip to the great North.
He hiked about 35 miles, chased critters, ran a river, and after a couple of weeks without a shower, ended up stinking something fierce. It's fall, and as I type, he's off on another adventure. He was home for about 6 days. I have a feeling retired husband fall is going to look a lot like this, with fewer days home in between.
But the garden stops for no adventure, and Marc pulled up the onions this past week.
They are curing right now and then we'll put them into storage for the winter.
It's a beautiful time of year, especially since we have for sure seen the last of the 90's and even the high 80's. My happiness knows no bounds.
And my windows are open, even when it's in the 40's at night.
Still, there are some late summer evenings warm enough to be outside for a whomp battle at Eric's house.
Gwen has started middle school.
We have first day of school proof for Eric's family.
They live in a different school district and are the last to start off the year.
Even Ephraim is getting a little home preschool time.
Unfortunately, jumping out of a swing and breaking her wrist wasn't really what Gwen wanted, but Ephraim got a little sympathy wrapping out of the whole deal.
From Marc's family, Jude is now firmly in the train stage. Everything is a "choo-choo" and is lined up accordingly. Even pillows and house mats.
From my daughter, we are getting cute grinning pictures of the boys. Jack (R) has this smile where his whole face gets involved and it's pretty precious.
Not to be outdone, Leo also is a smiley guy and it melts my heart when they see me on FaceTime and give me big grins. Their red hair is starting to grow back in, which is also fun to see.
Those baby grins are just too cute!!
