So around here this week....
With the help of Eric and Elisa, I got the rest of the garden in....finally. This was the day after they went over to my mother's and pulled a bunch of weeds in her back yard. It was really, really appreciated on all counts.
I cut some of the early lettuce for the first garden harvest of the year. Nice, tender stuff and always a rewarding feeling to see something produce.
These arrived.
Always something unusual and interesting in these arrangements. I have no idea what kind of flower that little blue on is, but it's sure pretty.
And this is just really interesting, too. With the last few weeks of caring for the patient, it was nice to get them.
We went up to the cabin for the holiday weekend. It was just my husband and I for the first night, and this is what we woke up to. Yep, totally OK with it despite the fact I had to venture out in it to get the dogs in.
Then the next morning when everyone else was arriving, there was even more.
Still OK with it.
...despite temperatures being a little below freezing. I'll take that over summer temperatures any day of the week.
This was gone pretty much as soon as the sun came up over the mountain.
Isn't it lovely, though?
Any day of the week. Now, if there was 3 feet of snow and we were stranded, which almost happened once, it might be another story.
Grandpa reading hunting stories to Quincy-boy. Update on the leg issues. Grandpa had a dr. appointment this week and he can start putting weight on that leg, gradually weaning off the crutches over the next week.
We had a houseful for the weekend. There was an epic game of Risk...
...and some time to remember exactly what Memorial Day is all about. Fun weekend.
Sent to me from the kids and grandkids this week, I got this one from Collin. James is laying claim to his toys.
From Marc's family....while we were at the cabin, he stopped over at our house to pick up a truck for his move over this direction. Levi and Isaac had lunch on our fort.
Back home in Pocatello, Marc was showing a little ingenuity getting some ice cream when he discovered they'd already packed the ice cream scoop.
One does what one must.
Isaac is officially a kindergarten graduate. I love this picture of him...just so Isaac.
Enthusiasm abounds.
That's a good lookin salad! And I would eat the ice cream with my bare hands if I had to. You can't let that stuff go to waste!
