I haven't been out of my house other than to walk the pasture for over a week. It's OK...just weird. I'm keeping busy though. I'm taking the philosophy that if I'm stuck at home I might as well get some projects done.
I'm taking you back to this picture, just to say I totally finished off this project. I have a dozen or so recipe binders in addition to my collection of cookbooks. In them I file all the recipes that are ripped out of magazines or printed off the internet. And yes, I know the internet recipes stay on the internet and theoretically I could see them any time, but I'm old school and I like to have a printed copy to look at rather than running back and forth to my laptop while I'm in the kitchen.
This is another of those "someday" projects that's now finished off. I got the idea from my daughter-in-law, Elisa, who has a binder of nothing but holiday recipes so she doesn't have to search them out of individual cookbooks or websites when a certain holiday rolls around. "What a good idea!" I thought, and promptly put it in my "I'll do it someday" file. 9 years later, it's done.
I made copies of the recipes we usually eat on holidays, or in some cases what we ate when we were raising our kids. So in a way it's a form of family history. And yes, I write notes in my cookbooks. I have no problem with that.
I also got totally caught up with Project Life pages on the app.
It took a little more time than usual.
Mostly because I had to wade through a lot of wedding pictures.
...and in all honesty, it goes to show how easy it is to get caught up.
It's one of the reasons I went to this format of documenting everyday life.
I just really didn't want the pressure of feeling constantly behind telling my family's stories.
Some of these stories are still coming, but this just makes me happy.
I have also been working On getting caught up on “current” documentation of family history. I’m nowhere near caught up yet, but I’m making good progress!
