With fall's arrival, things take a shift around the place.
Getting a nice rose show...
...but I have to stop dead-heading and confine myself to smaller bouquets...
so the plants can get themselves ready for winter dormancy.
This is a tree in my front yard that has amazing color in the fall.
Garden production is slowing down some, and it's time to harvest some of the vegetables.
We emptied Evan's potato buckets. We didn't get as many as last year, and we're not really sure why.
But we did get some, and I'm going to roast some this week. They are tasty, and the recipe I use is here.
Interestingly, we're still getting a few strawberries on the ever-bearing plants.
We're finding it difficult to get them picked ahead of the bugs getting to them. Maybe snails or slugs? I may have to do some research on that before next spring.
Fall is great. I'm blaming the low potato yield on...yep, you guessed it....Hollow Heart. Bryce will be able to tell you
