We spent this week's General Conference weekend at the cabin. October at the cabin is a beautiful time.
Unfortunately, since my husband is gone much of the fall hunting in various places, we don't often get to spend quality time together there. I know I could drive up by myself and enjoy it, but it's not as much fun without him.
There was still gorgeous color. There's no filter on these pictures...the trees are just that vivid. I love it.
Of course, being Allans, between sessions of conference there was a trip to the river to see if the grandboys could catch a fish or two. Unfortunately, the fish weren't playing.
The salt block had been licked right off the big rock we call The Altar. The corn had been pretty well picked off those cobs.
It was a beautiful day in the mountains.
Evan played a little Fetch It Up with the dogs. Gus will usually compete with Ollie for the stick unless we hold him back. He does sort of a doggie version of throwing a tantrum when that happens....it's like trying to wrench your arm out of the socket as he wiggles and squirms trying to get to the water if we throw a stick just for Ollie. Even if Ollie happens to reach the stick first, Gus will steal if from him.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, Collin's family was watching conference as well. This was a sweet-looking moment between James and David watching the tablet together. Collin says this was right before they starting fighting over it. ;)
Then there was this conference moment where James wanted to lead the intermediate hymn. That's a kid after my own heart.
Awesome pics, Ma. Love the fall.
