First off, happy birthday to my daughter-in-law, Elisa. Happy birthday to you, Sweetie!
I've been out in the yard off and on the past couple of weeks, and took a few pictures of things that caught my eye.
The Coleus is ridiculously tall and has totally taken over the flower pots. Interestingly, it blooms eventually....a tall, spiky lavender flower.
Despite the fact that the squash bugs have eaten every other kind of pumpkin in the garden and are trying to start on the butternut squash, these Cinderella pumpkins are thriving.
We have some fungus up at the top of the garden, near the fruit trees.
Speaking of fruit trees, these are the only 2 apples on the Red Delicious tree.
The same can't be said of the summer squash. Every little yellow streak in there is a squash and the size of the plant itself is enormous...probably at least 8 feet in diameter. The green zucchini is the same way.
The first of the potatoes have been dug up. Not a huge harvest, but respectable.
And we do have something growing out of the compost pile. I'm not sure if it's going to be the varied plant we had last year, but we'll have to wait and see.
Starting to seem a little like fall around here...
