So around here this week.....
Now THIS is what I'm talking about! This has happiness written all over it.
The Candy onions have been harvested, cleaned and brought in for winter storage. Brings life to the phrase "all is safely gathered in..."
We are doing out best to make a dent in those peaches off the tree.
I set this out the other day to share the wealth of some of the tomatoes with my neighbors. Within an hour the paste tomatoes were gone and by the end of the day most of the slicers were gone, too. There were just a few left in the bottom of the big laundry basket. I decided to leave them out for the next morning, but when my husband left for work he said someone had taken them...basket and all. Now, I did have some small print on the sign there saying to take what you want, but please leave my container. I even had grocery sacks in the basket for carrying away the tomatoes. My husband thinks it was probably brain dead teenagers who made off with it. If that's the case, my basket is probably at the bottom of the canyon and the tomatoes in it are decorating someone's house. Try to do something nice....
This week's bouquet. The cooler weather is going to do wonderful things for the fall rose show. The cooler weather also makes it easier for me to be out deadheading and fertilizing, although I'm going to have to stop that at the end of the month so things can settle for winter.
My husband's office had their annual picnic, and since Evan also works at the office his family was in attendance as well. Quincy was quite fascinated with the balloons they had around, and found he could reach this one to bat at it.
.....sometimes.
Sent to me from the kids and grandkids this week.....there's been a little excavating over at Emmett's house.
Both of Collin's boys haven't been feeling too great.
Isaac and Levi spent some time at the zoo and got to see Frankie the penguin roaming around.
I got this text from Marc about a conversation he had with the boys.
My daughter and her husband did a little traveling earlier in the month, heading back to the area where they both served their church missions. They got to visit with people they knew, go to sites where they served, and just generally enjoyed some favorite people and places.
She included a couple of pictures of recent wedding flowers. Since I absolutely have no creativity when it comes to things like this, I'm always impressed by how pretty these arrangements are.
And lastly, my daughter-in-law, Alison, sent this picture in a family group text.
.....and the resulting conversation.
Well now we know how to get rid of extra tomatoes
