With the December album out of the way, it was time to get back to some other UFO's (unfinished objects). If I'm being totally honest, I have many UFO's stashed here and there, and I have so many prospective projects, I probably won't be able to finish them all in this lifetime, but I'm going to try.
I put together another block of this quilt I started last summer. If you remember, this was a mystery quilt that was a weekly mailing that came during the summer and wow, I had really good intentions of finishing each block as it came, and staying right on top of it. Real life often interferes with my good intentions, so knee surgery and the subsequent broken arm really put me off my game.
I've had a card kit sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks now and finally managed to work my way through it.
I got 20 cards total, in multiples of these designs. Some of the design inspiration came from what Jessica Frost-Ballas, Laura Bassen, Sarah Moerman, and Yana Smakula had done with the kit. I have very few original ideas of my own, but I copy and tweak pretty well.
I will admit to being a little OCD when it comes to using up the last little shreds of patterned paper, but most of these cards fit into the love/valentine category and it will be a while before I'm able to use them all up.
Again, chaos on the desk, but after I was done with the card kit, the focus shifted from paper stuff....
...to stitching stuff. I'm trying to get several smallish projects put together for some traveling coming up.
I did manage to get one UFO totally done and out of the way. I started this little wool embroidery piece about, oh, 13 months ago, and it feel by the wayside in favor of other projects.
Perhaps I shouldn't mention that this is also one of those monthly hanging things, so yeah.....I have 11 more to go. Hopefully it won't take a year to do each one.
On the upside, I finished off the last 3 of the smaller wool banners I've been working on for a year or so. They are just needing the binding around the edge, so that's this week's goal. Trying to be accountable here.....
The wool piece are adorable!
