Since we knew a storm was going to come through during the middle of the week, we weren't surprised when we woke up to rain one morning.
It's a wonderful sound on the tin roof of the cabin and I love it when it happens.
But then, seriously not 5 minutes later, the rain turned to snow while we were getting breakfast ready.
My husband went out to cover the open-cab rhino. This picture looks a little odd because it's a screen shot of a video I took.
The snow got a little heavier and I thought it just looked like one of those snow globes.
The snow let up about noon and we went out for our walk.
Since the rain had changed the consistency of the cross-country snow some, we decided to stick to the road. Translation: The snow was a lot softer and there was less chance of me staying upright. Again, you see my usual position behind my husband. The funny quote from our walk. We were mushing along the road and the angry blue jay that lives in the area was following us, hopping through the trees. One of the sounds they make sounds amazingly like the one you hear in the movies for a hawk or a vulture. You know...in those old westerns when someone is out crawling through the desert with no water? My husband turns to me and says, “He’s hoping you’ll die so he gets a meal….” I didn’t know whether to laugh or hit him, but since he was laughing I chose that as well.
Fortunately, I didn't die and become the blue jay's dinner. Just for fun, my husband likes to go off road in the squishy snow. He says it feels better on his bum knee.
Glad you didn’t feed the blue jay Mom
