You all know the disclaimer by heart now, right? My blog, my thoughts for my family, and you're more than welcome to come along for the ride.
I've mentioned in the past that my husband very thoughtfully arranges to have flowers delivered to me every once in a while.
He knows they brighten my day and make me feel loved.
When a recent arrangement arrived I pulled out, and sighed over, the card he arranges to have attached to a long plastic pick that sits among the flowers...along with this tag. I've seen it countless times with each arrangement that comes, but for some reason it made me stop and think this time.
"Please water me daily!" My thoughts rambled a bit and then settled on this thought....don't we all need watering? And I'm not talking about personal cleanliness, although that's a really good thing too, but I'm extrapolating here.
Just like a garden needs water, especially in the hot summer sun....
Just like pots of flowers.....
Just like anything growing....
Including people...
Don't we all need some nurturing and kindness? A little metaphorical water?
And really, isn't that just another way of expressing the Golden Rule?
"We never know how far the effects of our service will reach. We can never afford to be cruel or indifferent or ungenerous, because we are all connected."--Chieko Okazaki
"I expect to pass through life but once. If, therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, as I shall not pass this way again." — William Penn
I think we all need a little watering every day, and I also think we can all be the ones to do a little watering every day.
So true!
