So around here this week.....
So remember how I said a week or so ago that it never turns out quite like you expect? This is Round 2 of that principle in action. My recheck went great....very pleased with how I'm progressing and then the other shoe dropped. "Let's graduate you to partial weight-bearing (as opposed to non-weight bearing) for a week, and then a couple of weeks full weight bearing where you gradually wean yourself off the crutches." Now, I would have been totally OK with that if I hadn't been told that I'd be non-weight bearing for the initial 3 weeks after surgery and then off crutches, but as it was I felt a little like I'd been given the old bait and switch. And if I'm totally honest, I pouted for about a day. Maybe just a little longer. And then I had to find my big girl pants and realize that it's only another few days before I can totally put both feet down, and only a few days after that before I can finally toss those 2 appendages that have somehow become my best friends. Someday soon I will be able to stop taking pictures of my legs and feet with the crutches.
I have to admit that I don't have a lot of new pictures this week, mostly because until Thursday, my life has been pretty much the same for the past 3 weeks....a little stitching, a little sewing, and hobbling around from place to place in the house. Here are last week's Project Life app pages, though.
I am current still and am so happy at how easy this is on my phone.
My husband left for a couple of days to go hunt buffalo with his 84 year old dad. This was his dad's hunt and he and his brother went along for the camaraderie. This was supposed to be a week-long excursion, but he cut his time way short to accommodate me. I had Edward and Frederick with me off and on for the time he was gone to help fetch and carry for me and it worked out pretty well.
Sent to me from the kids and grandkids this week....these pictures from Quincy's first birthday celebration.
Love the 2-fisted cake eating. I can't believe he's one already.
I don't know what store it is that has these cute little child-sized carts, but James thought they were pretty nifty.
And a picture of Baby David.
My DIL tried to get a good picture of the two of them together, but said she was, "totally unsuccessful."
And from my Bryce. Really, this obsession my boys have with outhouses is just a little odd....or maybe it's just a continual Rule of 13 moment.
