Perhaps it is a good thing that I don't have a Kneader's Bakery anywhere close to me. The closest location is 2 hours away, and as good as this is, I'm just not willing to make that drive. That said, this might be life-changing French toast. I am perfectly fine just giving it a little dip in the egg mixture the morning of, then slapping on the griddle. I'm just saying that if you don't like your French toast soaked, then don't soak it. I usually substitute this syrup for the one in the recipe, just because I can but other than that, find someone to bring you Kneaders cinnamon bread and make this. My FIL requested if for one of the breakfasts for the family reunion. That didn't really surprise me, he has a sweet tooth that he passed along to my husband who in turn passed it along to several of my children.

- Prepare syrup the night before or in the morning before cooking the french toast. Just combine the syrup ingredients in a sauce pan. Cook until sugar is dissolved. Set aside or refrigerate until serving.
- In the morning, melt some butter in a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add bread slices to pan and cook 3-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remember, these are thick slices of bread so they will take some time to cook all the way through.
- Serve french toast with the warm caramel syrup along with sweetened whipped cream and strawberries. Serves 4- 8.
