I'm driving today. I'm fetching my daughter home from school. She has finished up that freshman year, finished all her finals and is ready to come home. I'm looking forward to having her here although since I have done this multiple times with the boys, I am aware that there's a bit of an adjustment for college kids coming back home and not just going wherever they want whenever they want....and there's the small matter of the curfew. It's always a little interesting at first. Still, I will be happy to have her home full-time for a bit.
After she finished her finals, she was looking for something really fun to do and she decided on...wait for it....renting a puppy for a couple of hours. I had no idea you could do this, but apparently it can be done. They dropped the puppy off and almost immediately I started getting texts begging me to let her keep it. Um...no. Ollie is about all I can handle in the house. Pleading ensued, but I held strong. Admittedly, the little guy is adorable, but she's out of here in 2 months and when she comes home, he won't be a puppy any more, which is the big draw.
In response, I found 20 "Your Daughter Has Found a New Pin For You!" notifications in my email. At first, I thought someone had hacked her Pinterest account, but no. Each new pin opened up to an adorable puppy image on Pinterest. Nice try.
Rent a puppy? Really? What will they think of next? That puppy IS adorable...

Hold strong, Mom! I don't think it even has any hunting genetics!

seems like very good marketing - not many people would have the fortitude to return a rented puppy - is there an extra charge if it is overdue?

overdue fees! haha! What a brilliant idea from Joyce! Mama, at least now you know what to get her as a 'welcome home' present after her mission! :)
