It's August. It's still hot, although I was treated to one much cooler day yesterday when we had a little storm front move through...our one token rain storm for the summer months.

Most of my yard looks like this....a little crispy around the edges. I'm kind of like this sad pansy pot. I love pansies. They are cool weather flowers, though, so when the weather gets really hot, they wilt and get crispy, like me. So I'm trying to keep a positive thought process going through these last few weeks of summer. Instead of whining, which I can do very well thank you, I'm going to make a list of things I can actually appreciate about summer. Join with me, but don't expect "the lovely warm weather" to be included on my personal list. That's one thing I just can't get behind.

OK, so I like corn on the cob. That's a summer thing.

I also like garden tomatoes. In fact, I like most things that grow in the garden, so I'll put that in the plus column.
How about you? What do you like about summer? Do you have a lengthy list? Or are you like me and seaching for reasons to be positive about the Dog Days that are still ahead?
