Every once in a while I really try to make something that's way outside the Mom Food comfort zone. I go for some exotic ingredient or technique that I think will somehow be delicious. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, which is why we're not going here today:
Usually though, I stick with what works, which is why the recipe for today is for
Five Chip Cookies (originally from Taste of Home)
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup EACH milk chocolate chips, semisweet chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, vanilla chips and butterscotch chips
In a mixing bowl, cream butter, peanut butter and sugars. Add eggs, beating well. Add vanilla. Combine the flour, oats, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in chips. Drop by rounded Tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool for 1 minute before removing to wire racks. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
Those sound really good. I've never heard of them. I always love your recipes. The first picture looks good?
