You've seen the yak across the street, the baby horse next door and now, as promised, let me feature the free-range alpacas from the corner. We have a fairly recent move-in there....from California.....a retired attorney who thought it might be fun to raise alpacas. Now most people in our neighborhood, make use of the pasture ground around their house to keep their critters contained. And so does this guy...on occasion.
The rest of the time, his dozen or so alpacas graze on his lawn. Seriously. He lets them out to trim his grass. At least that's my theory. His lot is a little larger than some around here and I think he was just tired of mowing it.
Now we both have alpaca neighbors! Have they started chasing each other around, screaming their unearthly scream yet? You know I love animals, but alpacas are not my favorite. They don't want to cuddle.
