As I said, we spent yesterday in Boise for the State Solo competition. All my little singers sang their little hearts out. They all did well, but it's never like singing in the voice teacher's living room, KWIM? There are always those little nerves that settle in. Preemie Boy finished 6th out of a field of 25 baritones, so we're feeling pretty good about that. They have added 10 more singers in each category, so things have become more competitive. Interestingly, the judge this year is the same man pictured in this post from earlier in the week who has worked with Preemie Boy in music camps for the past few years. Here is Preemie Boy with his voice teacher.....she's awesome.
It was a fun day for us because we got to see the SGB for a while. He came to watch Preemie Boy sing....well, actually because he's at the age he is, he got to run the hall with College Boy while Preemie Boy sang. But when I walked out of the room he said, "Boppa!" which is his all-purpose word for DH and I....big grins, running to me. Oh yeah, being a grandparent is just the best thing. We spent some time at his house, playing with him, visiting with his parents, helping to hang a shelf, watching the rain with SGB and then going with them all to dinner. I took some photos of the afternoon.

This is actually one of my favorite photos of the afternoon. College boy crawling through a toy to catch the SGB:
Cute little very squeezable toddler legs:
Looking out the window at the rain falling:
And the SGB with his friend Mr. Bear:
I miss that age.
