I received a fax from the Lodge builder with a list of light fixtures I needed to accumulate for those last stages of construction.
As I've discussed before, going into those home supply stores gives me the heebie-geebies. There's just too much stuff! It's scary to someone who lacks the specific matchy-matchy Better Homes and Gardens gene. My house is very eclectic....comfortable, but dated.
At this point in time, quite dated in a few areas, but the idea of dealing with changing things scares me to death. I want stuff that looks nice, is durable, and that I won't have to turn around
and change yet again in a couple of years. But I digress. Back to Lodge Lighting.
So DH and I went out to look for light fixtures. In fact, we went to four different places looking at light fixtures.
And that's what really irks me about the whole process. You spend big chunks of time trolling for what you're looking for and you don't actually accomplish anything. We went to four places and then I had to go back again to actually purchase a very small portion of the lights. And the decision making process....don't even get me started.
I mean, look at the choices. Just too much. OK, so I know I'm not picking the one that looks like an egg. I need someone to give me three choices. I can to that. I can look at three things and make a choice.
But looking at hundreds of things...it just makes me tired. Maybe I'll go for those fish things. What do you think?
You never realize how many choices are out there til you need to find one. I'm not looking forward to this so much either!
It really depends on where they are going but of those you posted I like the 2nd, 3rd and 4th the best.
Good luck with making your decision!

These are all wonderful lights. Are you going for more of a rustic look or traditional? My favs are 3, 4 and 5. The fish would be fun in the right room.
Good luck!

I like 3, 4, & 5, wouldn't be crazy about cleaning the antlers.

You can't have a lodge without the antler chandelier...it's perfect for your family. Get one of those microfiber whisking things and it will dust just fine. I also like the rustic deer light. The top two are too modern, IMO.

I don't have the matchy-matchy thing either. OR, I have it too much, and I can only picture things that were made to go together. DH is the one who does the picking.
I like the fish things, though. Especially if you put them with the antler chandelier.

You've gotta go with the wagon wheel. Besides the fact that I LOVE it, it will enhance the feel of the lodge and maybe spark a few bar fights among the frequenters.

Isn't it strange how change can throw us into a loop! Nice choices, good luck on picking the best ones.

best of luck! Some the light fixtures have that big lodge feel of something in Yellowstone or Yosemite or Disney .... fun!

The antler chandelier has my vote. And don't get me started on Home Depot/Lowe's type stores. I swear I fall into a coma after ten minutes in those places.
