Actually it should be more like Slushy Snow, Grey Snow......but I love getting moisture and our area has needed it so badly. Walking this morning made me think of one of my favorite children's books Chicken Soup with Rice. "In January it's so nice while slipping on the sliding ice to sip hot chicken soup with rice. Sipping once, sipping twice, sipping chicken soup with rice." It was definitely a slippery day and I was doing a little "slipping on the sliding ice" as we went.
Found a couple of great quotes today. The first comes from my SIL, who has just BARELY gotten herself hooked up to the Internet and gotten an email address. I don't know how she's survived thus far, but she sent me this quote.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "wow, what a ride!!"
Great quote, huh? Look for it on a layout about myself soon....
The other I'm stealing from Stacy Julian's blog.
The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity. What a responsibility it is to be a woman, especially a mother, in this day and age. The world is so tough, so hard, at times so mean. What a responsibility it is to rear kind, compassionate, caring, responsible children in an era of instant gratification.....of Me First (also a fantastic children's book about this very thing). But this quote of Margaret Nadauld's makes me want to try to better, do better.

Amazing quotes! Gonna have to save those!
