Never plant long-needled pine trees in your yard. Especially if you live in a place that gets a fair amount of wind.
Because guarenteed you'll be sweeping the dang things up every other minute.....and your rain gutters will be full of them all the time and then will overflow and drip water into your daughter's closet.
Believe me.

Ok, I wont plant 'em, but I still like 'em.

And I was complaing because the needles attach themselves to our dogs trying to get a free ride inside where it is warm. Nothing compared to dripping water into a closet!!

We had 12...yes, 12 of these in our backyard in El Paso. I would rake up to 4 large yard bags full of needles and pine cones every week. I hated it! It always looked so messy in our backyard.
Are you going to cut it down so it doesn't plug up the gutters anymore? Glad you found out how the water was getting in.
TFS!
